The United Women’s Lacrosse League (UWLX) officially announced its 2017 regular season schedule (see graphic), which will get underway on May 27 at Attleboro High School in Attleboro, Mass.
“We are excited to announce the launch of our 2017 schedule,” said Digit Murphy, UWLX co-founder and CEO. “As we head into our second season of the United Women’s Lacrosse League, we continue to build upon a strong foundation for the future of women’s professional sports. We encourage everyone to starting booking their calendars now so they can catch these amazing women on the field this season!”
All four member clubs will return to UWLX play in 2017, with the Long Island Sound defending their 2016 league championship against the Baltimore Ride, Boston Storm and Philadelphia Force. Each team will play a seven-match regular season that will run from May 25 until July 21.
The 2017 UWLX Playoffs will commence with two semifinal matches on July 29, and the championship game will occur the following week on August 2. In the postseason, the no. 1 ranked team in the league standings will play the no. 4 club, while the no. 2 and no. 3 teams will also meet on the other side of the playoff bracket. The winners of those two matches will then play in the championship match.
