IAAM Conference Quarterfinals Recap and Semifinals preview!


The IAAM conference playoffs are in full swing! The A- B -C conferences have reached the semifinal round after some incredible quarterfinal games on Tuesday.

Starting with the A-conference:

Top seed McDonogh took care of business against St. Paul’s School for Girls, winning 18–3. The victory is their 175 consecutive.

The Eagles will meet A conference newcomers, fifth seeded Glenelg Country in Thursday’s semifinal. The Dragons beat Archbishop Spalding 10–7.

McDonogh beat GCS, 16–6 on April 25. It will. E interesting to see what the Dragons do differently against the Eagles.

The other A conference semifinal game should be a dandy as well! It will be the battle of the 2 and 3 seeds as Garrison Forest and Notre Dame Prep will play to see who moves on to the Championship game on Saturday.

Garrison Forest edged out Roland Park Country, 9–8 on Tuesday.


As for the Blazers, they handled Bryn Mawr, winning, 14–7.

NDP beat Garrison Forest, 17–6 on April 4. Both teams are littered with Division I talent. The Grizzlies have been red hot this season and anything can happen in the postseason.

Park and Friends will meet in the B-conference semifinal on Thursday. The last time both these teams played, the Bruins stunned the Quakers in overtime. The semifinal matchup should be spectacular.

The 3 seeded Quakers handled Indian Creek, 16–6.

As for the other side of the bracket, Top seed, Mercy had a quarterfinal round bye! The Magic will welcome St. John’s Catholic for the semifinal battle on Thursday.

In the C-Conference:

Top seeded and undefeated Catholic advanced to Thursday’s semifinal game after defeating Beth Tfiloh, 19–4. The Cubs will take on Seton Keough. The Gators took care of business against Chapelgate, winning 13–6.

St. Timothy’s and St. Vincent Pallotti both advanced to the semifinals. St. Tims eliminated Key, winning 18–9. While Pallotti beat Concordia Prep, 15–10.

Both semifinal games will be very competitive.

Catholic is the only team from the C-Gold Division to advance to the semis. All 3, Seton Keough, St. Tim’s and Pallotti reside in the Red Division.

Back in March, the Gators only lost to Catholic by five-goals.

St. Tim’s and Pallotti split two games during the regular season. Both games were close and competitive.
