The Lakers, who went (13–6) last season and made it all the way to the MIAA-A conference semifinals, will open with two scrimmages against two powerhouses from the DC-IAC when they do battle with Georgetown Prep and conference champs Landon.

BL will then open their first regular season game against Pennsylvania power Haverford on March 7.

Then it’s off to Florida for the Lakers annual spring break trip where they’ll play Oxbridge Academy and St. Andrews School.

Boys’ Latin will return home and will face arguably the best lacrosse team in the state of Maryland in 2017, Severna Park. The Falcons went 20–0 last season. Head coach Dave Earl was named the All-Metro Baltimore Sun Coach of the Year and claimed their second straight 4a-3a state championship. Should be a great private vs. public school game.

Then to wrap up the out-of-conference schedule the Lakers will play another public school power in Hereford, then Conestoga (Pa.) and to finish out with Gonzaga (DC).

Head coach Brian Farrell enters his fourth season as the leader of the Lakers and he will have a very talented group that should help guide the Lakers to much success in 2018.

“Our sport has grown so much and there are an incredible amount of high quality programs around the country,” said Farrell. “We are very fortunate to have some fantastic teams on our (out-of-conference) schedule that will help prepare us for the MIAA. Gives our guys and our coaches a good idea of where we stand and what we need to improve on so we are ready to go for conference play.”

BL will miss the firepower they had last season with guys like Greg Ey (Penn State), Luke Shilling (John’s Hopkins), Koby Russell (High Point) and Jake Glatz (Penn State) all graduating. But the Lakers, as always, will reload with talent. Keep an eye out for seniors Michael Ubriaco (Villanova), Basil Aburn (Syracuse), and the Brandau brothers (Chris (Georgetown) and Matt (Yale)) to lead the way for BL.
