First ever USMC Sports Leadership Lacrosse Academy to be held on Feb. 24 at US Lacrosse

On February 24 at Tierney Field on the campus of US Lacrosse in Sparks, MD. will be the first every lacrosse academy organized by the United States Marine Corp.

The USMC Sports Leadership Academy is a unique experience for athletes seeking training that goes beyond the court and playing field. These nationwide Sports Clinics offer the chance to enhance your playing ability through instruction from some of the area’s best coaches as well as learn leadership from some of America’s best leaders, the United States Marines. Players will be immersed in the fundamentals of their sport while being exposed to Marine-style thinking and leadership. The Marine Corps Leadership Traits will be taught during breakouts sessions that focus on how the sports skills learned on the court or field relate to real world challenges. Whether in the classroom or on the field of play, USMC Sports Leadership Academy attendees will experience the skills required to stand out among their peers.

So far registration has been booming for this event and they’re expecting close to 250 players to attend. As well as 20 members on the coaching staff.

It’s going to be interesting to see how the USMC handles the event, their drills and interaction with the student athletes.
