Robinson takes head coaching job at High School in Florida

Former McDonogh head women’s lacrosse coach Chris Robinson has informed the Peace Report that he’s taking the head coaching position at Lake Highland Prep in Orlando, FL.

Robinson, who stepped down as the coach of the Eagles during the winter, led McDonogh to nine straight Interscholastic Athletic Association of Maryland A Conference championships and eight straight years as the No. 1 girls lacrosse program in the country.

McDonogh fell in the conference championship two weeks ago against Notre Dame Prep. The loss snapped their 198-game winning streak.

Robinson, who has compiled a 341–18–1 career record, says he’s looking forward to a new chapter in his career and is glad to not have to deal with cold weather anymore.

The reason Robinson stepped down was to focus on building the Girls National Lacrosse League, which is for youth players to grow and learn the game, like Little League Baseball. And so far it’s been a successful project according to Robinson.

Lake Highland Prep (18–7) won’t be a rebuild project for Robinson either. The Highlanders were finalists for the state championship this past season.

Robinson also runs the M&D club program and is planning on creating a M&D Florida team.
