Lanclos will be representing Cumberland, Maryland on Saturday at Towson University for the Boys’ 2020 Under Armour Underclass Game.
The Uncommitted games are designed to give players who are still haven’t decided where they’re going to college. And the majority of the players missed the cut for the Underclass team they tried out for, but are still getting a shot at getting some exposure since they did impress during the tryouts.
Lanclos, who plays for Rock Lacrosse Club, had a terrific season, the rising junior was named First Team All-Sentinel Conference. And Easton scored 35 goals and had 10 assists this past season.
PRLB did a Q&A with Easton. Here’s what he had to say:
How does it feel to be selected for the Under Armour Uncommitted event?
It feels great, I went there with no expectations, but it’s an honor to be selected and to represent my school.
2. What’s it mean to you to get some excellent exposure to how you play the game in front of College coaches?
It’s invaluable. It’s what I’ve spent hours hitting the wall and in the gym for…an opportunity just like this!
3. How long have you been playing lacrosse?
I picked lacrosse up later than most, spring season in sixth grade. Lacrosse is still growing in California where I grew up (my Dad is in the US Navy) so I wasn’t aware of how great of a game it is.
4. How did you feel Cumberland Valley did this season?
Looking back it was a great season, but I still think we had the ability to win it all.
5. What are you trying to improve on skill wise this summer?
I played crease attack last year in HS, but during the summer I play middie with my club team, Rock. It gives me the opportunity to work on my outside shooting and north/south dodging.
6. What kind of sticks do you play with?
ECD Mirage head and ECD Carbon shaft.
7. Name the favorite song your listening to now.
Dreams and Nightmares by Meek Mill
8. What’s your favorite movie?
Guardians of the Galaxy
9. In your opinion what’s the best part of your game?
My inside finishing.
10. Has the new recruiting rules made the searching for college process easier for you?
Absolutely. I’m a very young 2020, so I was a late bloomer when compared to my peers in 9th grade. The rules allowed me to get bigger and stronger before I hit my recruiting window.
