Halpern is committed to Northwestern University. Kendall attends Syosset HS in NY and plays midfield.


Halpern has also been selected to tryout for the US Women’s U-19 team.

Here’s a Q&A the PRLB did with Kendall.

Peace Report: How does it feel to be selected for the Under Armour Underclass event?

Kendall Halpern: It is a privilege to have been selected as a rising junior to be apart of the Long Island highlight team. I was very excited.

PRLB: What’s it mean to you to get some excellent exposure to how you play the game in front of College coaches?

Halpern: When the spotlight is on no matter if it is my college coaches there or not I outwork and hustle the most I can.

PRLB: How long have you been playing lacrosse?

Halpern: I started my lacrosse career on Syossets PAL team in the third grade, then joined my club Team Elevate going into the sixth grade.

PRLB: How did you feel your HS team did this season?

Halpern: This season my high school team had a rollercoaster ride. We play in one of the most competitive conferences in the country and had big wins and bad losses. Next year our goal is to go to the Long Island championships.

PRLB: What are you trying to improve on skill wise this summer?

Halpern: I am trying to improve on my dodging and shooting.

PRLB: What kind of sticks do you play with?

Halpern: I play with an all Under Armour stick. The head is an Under Armour Regime with a Rail Pocket designed with my future coach Kelly Amonte Hiller. The shaft is a composite Under Armor shaft.

PRLB: Name the favorite song your listening to now.

Halpern: The Middle by Grey, Maren Morris and Zedd

PRLB: What’s your favorite movie?

Halpern: The Hunger Games

PRLB: In your opinion what’s the best part of your game?

Halpern: The best part of my game is my defense. It comes very natural to me. I play basketball which helps my lacrosse game.

PRLB: Now that you’re committed how does it feel to have the recruiting process done with? And why did you choose Northwestern?

Halpern: Being Committed pushes me to work harder and get ready to compete at the highest level. At Northwestern they deliver one of the nations top lacrosse programs along with great academics. Kelly Amonte Hiller who has won many national championships and along with the other coaching staff recruit girls from all over the nation.
