Roughriders Expand Into Virginia Beach With Acquisition of V3 Lacrosse

Baltimore, Md. (February 21, 2019) — Corrigan Sports Enterprises (CSE) announced it has acquired V3 Lacrosse to form the Virginia Beach Roughriders. This acquisition marks the fourth Roughriders regional program overall, and its second program in Virginia.

V3 Lacrosse currently fields boys teams ranging from the graduating classes of 2020 through 2028. These teams will remain intact and expand to at least two additional teams in the region. The Virginia Beach Roughriders program will be led locally by V3 Founder Frank Logan.

Logan, now Technical Director of Virginia Beach Roughriders said, “The Roughriders’ debut in Virginia Beach marks a turning point for boys lacrosse in the Tidewater region. Building upon the nine-year local history of V3 Lacrosse, the VB Roughriders will provide outstanding lacrosse training as well as access to regional and rational Roughrider teams which helps them gain high level exposure to college recruiters.”

“The parent organization of the Roughriders, Corrigan Sports, runs the Under Armour All-America Lacrosse Game, the NCAA Future Champions and a number of other well-known regional and national competitions. This puts the VB Roughriders in the clear leadership position for lacrosse athletes who want to work their way to the top of the sport. No other program in the region comes close.”

A US Navy veteran and former F-14 Tomcat pilot, Logan has coached teams the past four years that have produced over two dozen NCAA players, five US Lacrosse high school All-Americans, a Bob Scott Award winner and several dozen All-District players. His travel teams have finished as tournament finalists or champions 16 times since 2014.

A local tryout and clinic will be held on Sunday, March 17th. Roughrider coaches and administrators will be on-hand to teach and evaluate.

With the program expansion Roughriders will field more than 30 teams in Maryland, Pennsylvania and Virginia.

Roughriders Director Tony Incontrera said, “We are excited to expand into the talent-rich region of Virginia Beach and partner with Frank. He’s built a solid foundation of teams and clinics in the area since 2009 and with the Roughriders’ additional resources and full-time professional management we feel it’s a great opportunity for local players to elevate their respective skills and further enjoy our great sport.”
