2019 Season Outlook
1) Top players are Alex Breschi, Sr (UNC) midfielder 2 way, Jack Koras, Jr (Maryland) attackman, Chase Llewellyn Jr (Georgetown) 2 way middie, Ryan Lancaster, Jr middie, Kevin Ellington Jr, Goalie
2) Team strengths will be midfield athleticism and speed, ground ball play, competitiveness, overall speed and athleticism is very strong
3) Some concerns….team graduated 8 of 10 starters who were all seniors so filling new roles with inexperienced players is a concern as I wouldn’t call us a veteran laden group. That being said, we have some really talented younger players who are very hungry and competitive.
Our core values are summarized in our team catchphrase “CHEAT CODE” its an acronym which stands for Commitment, Humility, Effort, Attitude, and Toughness. These are all “controllables” that the boys can all display. When you apply these 5 attributes in any endeavor in life you will create a Culture Of Dedicated Excellence…..which acts like a Cheat Code to get the desired outcomes you want. So our philosophy is to master what we can control and the outcomes will take care of themselves. We ran a CHEAT CODE campaign on our social media platforms for 50 days leading up to the season which was cool and we got a great response from the alums.
The expectation is that the Dons will apply these 5 attributes in all our performances this season. — new Loyola Blakefield Head Coach Gene Ubriaco
