PRLB HS Preview: Towson High
The Generals are chomping at the bit to get the 2019 season started. A year ago, in head coach Shawn Burke’s first season with the program, Towson, 14–4 record in 2018, made a deep run in the state championship tournament making it to the 3A semifinals which sent a message to the rest of the area schools that Towson lacrosse was back and for real.
Towson returns some star power, look for stud midfielder Leighton Bechdel, shutdown defender Matt Jahries, one of my Top Area defensemen Teagan Hersh, All-County attackman Grant Kuehn and University of Utah commit middie Rory Bateman.

“The eye in the sky don’t lie…” A lot of areas of improvement, but also a lot of great stuff to build on! Great move here from X. Thanks to Kirk Bechdel for filming!@mrgiovan @TowsonBoosters @TowsonHSsports @bech pic.twitter.com/Heiw2JYxg8— Coach Burke (@CoachSBurke) March 3, 2019

2019 Season Outlook
The Generals are a senior dominated team that won the 3A North Region Title last year, their first since 2005. Their strength is in the midfield with US Lacrosse All American Leighton Bechdel and the explosive Rory Bateman leading a deep group. All County Attackman Grant Kuehn leads the attack while All County Defensemen Teagan Hersh and Matt Jahries anchor the back end. Look for big things from first year starter Wilson Turner in the cage.
