Holy Child – junior Midfielder/Draw Specialist – Recently committed to the United States Naval Academy
I would like to thank my friends and family, especially my mom for the constant support throughout the years and especially throughout the entire recruiting process. I would also like to thank my all the coaches and trainers who have made me into the athlete I am today; I would definitely not be the person and player I am today without them. Finally I would like to thank the Navy Coaching staff for the amazing opportunity to play the game I love at the next level.

PLB: What made you choose this school?
Sydney Tepper: Getting the opportunity to play at the Naval Academy had always been a dream of mine. I choose the Naval Academy because of the amazing Academic and athletic opportunities, as well as the chance to ultimately be apart of something much bigger than myself by eventually getting the chance to serve our country.

PLB: How has the COVID-19 Pandemic affected you?
ST: The pandemic definitely changed my everyday life in many ways. Although there has been a lot of hard parts of the virus like losing our high school season, and not being able to see my friends, classmates, and teammates everyday, the pandemic gave me a chance to get better. Before the Pandemic, I was constantly going 100 miles an hour, every hour of everyday. Between School, Sports and extracurriculars I had little free time and was constantly stressed about balancing it all.
Once the Pandemic hit I found myself with so much free time, it honestly felt wrong. However this newly found free time gave me a chance to take a deep breath, relax, spend some much needed time with family ( and catching up on some much needed rest.) It was definitely gave me the time to take a step back and figure out what I wanted to do in the future. The time off was definitely a welcomed break, but it was also a time to get better. I worked extremely hard over these past few months to not only become a better player by working on my physical fitness and the game I love, but also as a person.
How would you describe your recruiting process?
ST: My recruiting process was definitely very exciting, but also quite stressful at times. I definitely had a great list of schools and coaches that I was interested in and I had always had the goal of playing for Coach Timchal at the Academy. I am super grateful to have had amazing coaches who really helped me through the process!
