PEACE LACROSSE BLOG: What made you choose this school?

GRACIE DRIGGS: I chose Georgetown because of its perfect balance of amazing academics and its incredible lacrosse team. The coaching staff made me feel so comfortable and excited to be apart of the Hoya Family! Georgetown is closer to home for me and I will also get the chance to play with my sister for 2 years. I loved the team environment and the gorgeous campus so much. I cannot wait to get to the Hilltop!

PLB: How has the COVID-19 Pandemic affected you?

GD: The pandemic definitely made recruiting a lot more complicated with no in person visits or conversations. Coaches did an incredible job of adapting and helping us be informed to make the best decision for us. I think when lacrosse was postponed this spring it made me and my teammates want to keep working hard and keep pushing each other from a distance to be ready from when we could be on a field again.

PLB: How would you describe your recruiting process?

GD: My recruiting process was a very exciting and quick one. I had narrowed down my top list of schools this summer and I was so excited to hear from them on September 1st. After phone calls and zooms, I took some time to visit a few campuses on my own and try to get a better feel of the schools. In the end, I just had a feeling about Georgetown that I didn’t get from any other school and I knew it was the place for me.

PLB: What kind of stick do you play with?

GD: I play with and Under Armour Head and an STX shaft.

“Somewhere behind the athlete you’ve become and the hours of practice and the coaches who have pushed you is a little girl who fell in love with the game and never looked back… play for her.” -Mia Hamm

PLB:What do you do for fun?

GD: For fun I enjoy going to the beach, hanging out with my friends, paddle boarding, playing guitar, and spending time with my family and cousins.

PLB: What do you want to be when you grow up? And Why?

GD: I want to be a pediatric surgeon because I enjoy working with kids and being a surgeon has always been a dream of mine. The other job I am considering is a position in law enforcement like the FBI, CIA, or Homeland Security.

PLB: Once Coronavirus is over where would you like to visit?

GD: I would love to visit Greece, Ireland, and France,.
