First, we would like to dedicate this Top 50 to our dear friend, Macy Jaggers. Macy recently passed away and she was a huge supporter of not only our work but she loved the game of lacrosse. She will be sorely missed. Rest in Peace to one of the best Lax parents ever.

Secondly, we are excited to bring this list to you. We attended events at the beginning of September up until December.

We saw players that we’ve been itching to see all year and they are on this list.

The one thing you’ll notice is we have more goalie representation on this list. The goalie play this fall was off the charts.  The same can be said for the faceoff guys. We enjoyed some great face-off matchups this fall including several when we attended the training session at our proud sponsor, Inner Circle Lacrosse.

Rankings Criteria:

The Top 50 is strictly players we saw at events and were impressed with. That includes club events, showcases and the play days which we loved the most.

There’s no politics with this Top 50 or personal bias towards a player or a particular club team. It’s just the kids we saw. So please don’t come to us wondering why a certain player isn’t on the Top 50. If they aren’t it’s because we didn’t see them play in person.

We attended a ton of events this fall for the sole purpose to make sure we saw all the players from around the nation to be considered for this Top 50.

These rankings are also made up of the players who made our “Top Players Who Impressed” from various events.

Our very own Tom Peace evaluated, took notes and got feedback from many evaluators at these events. Tom has been in the lax recruiting business for over 10 years, whether it be as a journalist or as a recruiting coordinator for the top junior colleges in the nation. So this list will be done the right way.

We took into various different factors for this list. How a player scored a goal or caused a turnover was just one factor. We also looked at how a player dealt with adversity, how they communicated with coaches/ referees and teammates. And we even researched if a player was a multi-sport athlete and did well in the classroom. Basically, we did our homework.

Please enjoy these rankings. And we wish you a Happy Holidays!

PLB TOP 50 PLAYERS FROM THE FALL

  1. Joey Spallina – 2022 – Attackman – Mt. Sinai HS (NY) – Team 91 Smash – Committed to Syracuse : Tom’s Take: We were thrilled when we got the opportunity to watch Joey play at the MdLaxEvents Fall Fray in early October. Spallina was as good as advertised. The thing I took away from watching Joey was his leadership and willingness to share the ball.
  2. Brock Behrman – 2022 – Attack – Niskayuna (NY) – Team 91 Smash – Committed to Notre Dame: Tom’s Take: Brock Behrman is an awesome name that alone warrants a top ten ranking, But seriously, Brock has all the tools and the make-up to be a star at the next level. I was impressed with his footwork and LAX IQ.
  3. Luke Engelke – 2022 – Faceoff/Midfield – Pingry HS – (NJ) – Leading Edge – Committed to Duke: Tom’s Take: When you see Luke play he stands out to you right away with his lighting quicks off a face-off win and then his hustle to the goal to get the score. A very smart lacrosse player, who you can tell studies his craft and works at it.
  4. Jacob Pacheco – 2023  – Midfield – Valor Christian (CO) – Crabs Lacrosse: Tom’s Take: Jacob is going to continue to turn heads every time he steps on a lacrosse field. Pacheco has great size and is an athletic middie that is tough to stop on the dodge or on a fast break. Jacob has also been working hard at his craft this fall and it was obvious from the goals he was scoring.
  5. Nate Kabiri – 2023 – Episcopal (Va.) – Midfield- DC DOGS: Tom’s Take: Nate “the Great” Kabiri is also a star in the making. The sophomore stud middie had a tremendous fall catching the eye of numerous top evaluators. Kabiri will continue to improve. Stick-work is amazing.
  6. Will Peden – 2021 – Attack – Malvern Prep (Pa.) – Mesa Fresh – Committed to Penn State: Tom’s Take: Peden is another Philly star in the making. Excellent hand-eye skills. Gets to the cage with ease. Not rattled by playing the other teams best defenseman. Good leadership skills as well.
  7. Cameron Goodloe – 2021 – Goalie – Chantilly HS (Va.) – MadLax Capital – Committed to Michigan: Tom’s Take: Goodloe (6’3, 215lbs)  is a big, tough, strong net-minder with great vision for where the ball is coming from. Was named an MVP at the Nike Nationals event.
  8. Charlie Iler – San Ramon Valley (Ca.) – Midfield – West Coast Starz / Alcatraz Outlaws – Committed to Johns Hopkins: Tom’s Take: Charlie turned it up at the Nike Nationals event. Very elusive middie from the west coast with tremendous stick-work and just has a great time playing the game.
  9. Paul Garza – 2022 – Midfield – St. Johns College (DC) – Annapolis Hawks – Committed to Navy: Tom’s Take: Garza is just a must-see kind of lacrosse player. When you see he is playing at an event you want to get to that field and see him play and thats what I did, lol. Paul is also a good leader as well is unselfish with the ball. Made a beautiful feed to Truitt Sunderland in the BMore ’22 game at Nike Nationals for a big goal.
  10. Matt Barraco – 2022 – Faceoff – Parkland (Pa.) Building Blocks – Committed to Harvard: Tom’s Take: Matt was named MVP at the MdLaxEvents Fall Fray event. The Parkland junior has a great nose for the ball off the draw and is a bulldog when scooping up the gb and then creating offense. We look forward to hopefully seeing Matt play some more during the spring season.
