SoVA Showcase: Event Blog (UPDATED)

PLB Players Who Stood Out:

Kintigh Methany - Attack - Orange HS (N.C.) - Carolina Hilltoppers:

Methany scored some sensational goals during the event. The attackman moves well around the cage with or without the ball. Kintigh is a 2023 and should be interesting to see where this talented player commits to college.

Frank Cetrone - Attack - Bishop McGuiness HS - Shred Thread

Cetrone is a shifty player who gets after the ground balls and does well moving the ball to create offense. The senior attackman has fast feet and solid vision of the field. Frank is also a good team player and shows good leadership qualities.

Gavin Laton - Attack - Pinecrest - 91 Carolina

Laton is a threat to score whenever he touches the rock. A nifty lacrosse player that is still getting better as a 2024. Gavin has the athletic ability and hustle to play both attack and midfield. The Division 1 quality is there with this kid and he should have a strong Spring and Summer in 2022.

Mason Vance - Defense - Northwest Guilford - NC Fusion

We were immediately impressed with how Mason carried himself on the field with confidence. Vance made a few nice clears up the field. The senior defender shows good positioning when playing 1-on-1.

Miles Fuehler - Faceoff - Bishop McGuinness - Shred Thread

Miles scored the game winning goal in a Braveheart in the All Star Game. And it was the result of a great faceoff win. Fuehler had several good faceoff wins during the day. The Bishop McGuinness 2024 faceoff specialist shows a great clamp and push and pull mechanics. Its obvious that Miles works on his craft.

Sean Carroll - Midfield - Wando (SC) - Charleston Elite

Carroll hustles well up and down the field. We look forward to seeing Sean play more this upcoming fall tournament circuit with Charleston Elite. Carroll displays good LAX IQ. Does the little things well.

Christopher Moreno - Goalie - Dorman HS - Charleston Elite

Moreno made some big stops during the event. Christopher didn’t seemed rattled when he did let in a score. Seemed that Moreno got better as the day went on and he saw more shots. The senior definitely garnered some interest from the college coaches who were at the event. We look forward to seeing where this fantastic netminder goes to college.

Jay Legg - Attackman - Holly Springs - Team 91 Carolina

Legg is a solid attackman who shows good field sense and is comfortable with his shooting game. Jay led the event in points with 7 in total. We were impressed with his unselfishness and willingness to move the ball. Legg finished the day with 4 assists.

Ray Wiley - Defense - Millbrook - Nine One Nine

Ray has good footwork and quick hands when he tries to go for a check. Impressed with the Millbrook senior and the way he gets after the ball carrier and causes turnovers. Wiley also shows good leadership skills.

Dylan Green - Goalie - RJ Reynolds

Green made 12 saves during the event and had a .571 save %. Dylan communicates well with his defense. Sees the field well when moving the ball up field on a clear. Green impressed the college coaches who were on hand.
